Terry
decided that the next day he was going back to the school and search Bobby's
locker. We had to find out if he had any other items that didn't
belong to him. Terry got permission to search his locker from the
principal. And set about doing just that. He found three notebooks,
a radio, cigarettes, lighter, and a necklace. We knew that the notebooks
belong to other kids, radio and the other stuff we had no clue as to where
those had come from. Terry took the items back to the principal and
left them there. We figured somebody sooner or later would come looking
for them.
A couple
days later, we get a call that the manager of the apartments wanted to
talk with us. So when we both got home, we went to see her.
She told us that they had caught Bobby throwing food into the pool.
She also told us that they had just replaced the filter because of food
clogged it up. They hadn't known who was responsible for that.
But this time they caught Bobby in the act. The manager made
him scoop up all the popcorn and chips he had thrown in there. And
then she sent him home. I told her we would pay for any damage he
had done to the filter this time. She said she appreciated that,
but thought that they had gotten it out before it got to the filters this
time. Also that she was restricting his access to the pool unless
one of us was present with him at all times. We agreed on that.
And we left. When we asked Bobby about it. He said it was no
big deal he was just bored.
I went
on to tell him that he was no longer allowed at the pool with out one of
us being with him. He said "Screw You", I'll go down there when I
want to. I told him no he wasn't that it was management's rule not
ours. He told me that management could stick it, and he was going
swimming. I put my arm in front of him and he got pissed. When
he tried to get passed me, I stood my ground. He turned around and
went and sat at the table. I could actually see the rage coming.
The look on his face, fists balled up, almost steam from the ears.
He came up from the table so fast I almost didn't see him.... he tried
to push past me. And once again I stood my ground. Terry was ready
to beat some respect into his butt. But I told him that I had it
this time. Bobby continued to try and get around me. He made
the mistake of taking a swing at me, me missed, but it set something off
in me. I guess it was a flashback from my first marriage. I
took him by the one arm and the front of his shirt and spun him around
up against the wall. He was shocked by me doing this. I held him
there with my fist drawn back, ready to hit him (please remember, this
boy was my height and weighed a good 30 pounds more then me). I told
him while I held him there. That if he ever took another swing at
me, that I best be the last person he wants to see. Cause no man
was going to hit me again. And that included him. Terry didn't say
a word during this little power struggle. Bobby decided he didn't
need the argument that bad. I finally calmed down enough to let go
of him.
