Over
the weekend, while cleaning house I noticed that there were cut marks on
my dining room chairs. Bobby had taken a knife and hacked the backs
and seats of the chairs. Carved his initials into the leg of the
table. There was no way to repair this. The cut marks were
to deep to be sanded, so the table eventually got hauled off.
Since
the weekends I also did laundry, I headed into Bobby's room to gather any
clothes that were laying around. While I was in there, I checked
on the hamster that Tim had bought for Bobby's birthday. I noticed
that it wasn't moving around like usual. And called Terry into look at
it. We both decided that the hamster had two broke legs or a broken
back. Terry called Bobby into his room and asked him what happen
to the critter. bobby said, Yeah I did that. And he turned
around and walked away. I had Terry take it outside and put it out of its
misery. After cleaning out the cage, I put it in the closet.
I told Bobby no more hamsters. He said he didn't care.
Two weeks
later, Bobby came back from a visit with Tim, and went into his room to
empty his bag. The next day or so I was in his room and found another
hamster in the cage. I thought oh no here we go again. I called
Tim and asked him why he bought another hamster. He told me that
Bobby had told him that Terry had taken the hamster outside and killed
it. I said is that all he told you. Tim said yes, I went on to tell
him that the last hamster had a broken back and Bobby had done it.
Tim didn't know what to think or do. But said if there was any problems
with this one that he would take it. Well about three days later,
I noticed that the little thing had a limp. So I called tim and told
him to come get this one. He said he would but it would be a day
or two before he could get it. I said fine. And I hoped nothing would
happen to it. I moved the cage into the living room where it was
around more people.
The next
day I came home from work, and checked on the hamster. I was too
late. The hamster was dead. And by the feel of him, his back
was broken too. I called Tim and told him under no conditions he
was not to buy another pet of any kind. I wasn't going to watch another
get hurt.
We had
several cats at the time too. But they never showed the least bit
of interest in the hamster, and they stayed away from Bobby as much as
possible.
